If you have the desire to improve your game or your fitness level we can help – with a full fitness class schedule (18 classes per week covering the whole spectrum from cardio combat to relaxing Thai Chi and yoga, there is bound to be something to help you getter fitter or more active.

Courses are run on a regular basis throughout the year on a variety of themes such as nutrition, absolution and back fit .

Personal tuition is available from our fully qualified instructors on every aspect of health and fitness.

With a relaxing lounge area for pre and post exercise it’s a wonderful way to meet new friends and join in the social side of the club.

Body Blast   Cardio Combat
A great fat-burning class based upon exercise to music, which includes some elements of choreography. Excellent for increasing fitness and reducing fat in a fun environment. Combines powerhouse moves and stances developed from a range of self-defence disciplines including Karate, Kickboxing, into a "take no prisoners", adrenaline-pumping routine. It is an empowering, athletic workout that will have you "fighting fit" in record time!
   
Stretch and Tone Total Body
An all over body conditioning class which varies from week to week using a variety of pieces of equipment and movement to ensure an increase in muscle tone, strength and endurance. Multi stationed group exercise class designed to work on all the basic elements of fitness (strength, stamina, flexibility). No co-ordination required and all abilities welcomed.
   
Fit Ball Aerobiking  
The core muscles function to maintain or stabilise the body as it moves. The greater the instability, the more the body needs to react to steady it. This new class with medicine balls will ensure that you improve your balance in every day life through strength and stamina. Set to the latest chart-topping tunes, RPM is a fun, athletic cardiovascular cycling workout that guarantees to leave you on a high and wanting more. A prolific calorie guzzler, RPM burns fat fast. It is also murder on the butt and thighs, so not only will you feel great but also you'll look amazing. Don't delay, ride the calorie killer now...but be warned, it's addictive!
   
Aqua Fit Yoga    
Aquafit uses water resistance to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle tone. Aquafit will also help tone those problem areas. Extremely popular classes with female customers, so if you are looking for a fun packed class with no impact, look no further! Yoga can be practiced by almost anyone regardless of age, from very young, to women during pregnancy, to older people alike. There is a form of yoga to suit everyone with different sets of exercises for different people.
   
Tae Kwon Do   Tai Chi    
A dynamic and fun form of Karate/ Kickboxing originating from Korea in 1955. An all over body workout that varies every week and teaches Self- defence, fitness, discipline and flexibility. Due to the wide and varied nature of postures and techniques, Tai Chi can be practiced by almost anyone
   
Legs, Bums and Tums   Line Dancing  
A great fat-burning class based upon exercise to music, which includes some elements of choreography. Excellent for increasing fitness and reducing fat in a fun class environment. This class will take you through the classic line dances that started the whole line dance craze off, as well as learning new steps. It's suitable for all levels.
   

Courses

Over the course of the year we try and bring you some specialist courses these will be taught in a block of approximately 6 weeks. We will be run training courses such as Back Fit, Absolution, Ladies Self defence and Nutrition. These are not included in gym membership and each course requires payment.

Step       Fit'n'Functional    
A fun exercise to music class based on the use of a step, which will help to increase fitness levels as well as increasing fat burning benefits. A fantastic class exclusive to Fitness First utilising the "Stability Ball" to help develop functional strength - strength that carries over to every day life - a must for all levels.
   
Pilates     Body Balance    

Developed in the 1920's by Joseph H. Pilates whose aim was to combine the physique of the ancient Greeks with meditative strength of the east.

It was originally a favourite of ballerinas and professional dancers, but in the last few years has begun to break through into the main stream.

Within a matter of weeks of undertaking Pilates you will begin to notice your movement become more controlled and responsive, you should be standing straighter and feeling more energised as your body reacts to its newfound inner strength.

The importance of taking a holistic approach to health and fitness is sweeping the world and Body Balance is at the leading edge of this phenomenon.

Capitalising on the worldwide trend towards Yoga and Pilates, Body Balance combines the benefits of these exercise forms as well as other eastern disciplines, into one challenging and invigorating experience using a unique blend of movement and music.
