Train links to Exmouth
The Mainline runs to Exeter St David's or Exeter Central.
The local service to Exmouth runs along the river with great
views. (25 minute journey). This is an important link for
Exmouth and villages to Exeter, so please support it. It also
saves trying to park in Exeter on a day trip from Exmouth.
There is a very good rail network from which
you can reach Exeter and then the local link to Exmouth. Trains
from London Paddington main line station are fast and frequent
over the 2 routes to Exeter - one of which is via Bristol
and the beautiful Roman town of Bath.
You can connect with a network of local
and cross-country routes, many of which are particularly scenic
and an excellent way to see more of the countryside.

From Heathrow Airport it is an easy
route using the M4 motorway towards Bristol, changing motorsways
to the M5 which runs all the way to nearby Exeter.
Trains and coaches run frequently to Exeter
and tickets can be purchased from the airport. For foreign
visitors, if you plan to make several rail journeys, ask about
the BritRail Pass at British Rail Offices or travel agents
before you leave, since it is not available in Britain.
Tickets can be bought at any station where
you can ask about the many reduced price ticket deals. Gatwick
Airport has a 30 min. journey to London Victoria Station,
where you can get a Underground train (known as the Tube)
to Paddington Station where the Trains to Exeter start.

The National Express coach
system covers most of the U.K. and has a main interchange
coach station at Exeter. There is a frequent local bus service
between Exeter and Exmouth. Britain's long-distance coach network
reaches all major towns and is an economical way to travel.
